Bingo Night - LAES families come together for a fun night of bingo! Prizes are available for winners. This event typically takes place in the fall.
Board Game Night - The LAES community comes together to teach board games, learn board games, and have fun playing board games.
Heritage Event - The LAES community comes together for a celebration of the diverse cultural heritage of the LAES students. This is a new event for LAES and is slated to take place in the spring.
Ice Cream Social - The LAES community gets together at the beginning of the school year to welcome new faces, say hi to old friends, and eat some ice cream.
Movie Night - The LAES community gathers in the gym to watch a movie.
School Dance - The entire LAES community comes together for a night of dancing and fun. Students learn dances in PE, then perform their dances by grade level. After the performance period, students have fun dancing with their friends. This event is held in the spring.
Show What You Know - LAES students show off their knowledge of a favorite topic. All LAES students are invited to participate in the event. Even if students can’t participate, they’re encouraged to come to the event and learn from their schoolmates. This event is held in late winter or early spring.
Sixth Grade Basketball Game - LAES faculty and sixth grade students compete in basketball games against Forest Edge Elementary. The whole LAES community comes out to cheer the Dolphins to victory! This event takes place in later winter at South Lakes High School.
Sixth Grade Graduation - LAES sixth grade students and their families celebrate the students’ graduation from Lake Anne. This event takes place at the end of the school year.
Skate Night - LAES families meet at SkateQuest for a night of ice skating! This event takes place in Demember.
Walk and Roll to School - The LAES community meets at Hook Road Recreation Area for coffee, bagels, and playtime before school. Everyone then walks to school together. This event is typically held the first Friday of each month.
Yard Sale - The LAES community comes together to sell and purchase gently used goods. This is a new event for LAES. The event is schedulded for Saturday, October 6th.
Events and Activities for Our Students
After-School Enrichment - After-School Programs are offered during Fall and Spring sessions. A wide variety of class are offered each session.
Dolphin Art - Dolphin Art (formerly called GRACE Art) is a supplemental art program powered by LAES parents and funded by our PTA. Each month, in every classroom, parent volunteers give a quick introduction of the artist of the month, and then guide students through a simple, hands-on art project in the artist's medium. It's a fun and easy way to get involved.
Back to School Luncheon for Teachers - LAES families demonstrate their appreciation to LAES staff by providing lunch to teachers at the beginning of the school year.
Cookie Bar - LAES families demonstrate their appreciation to LAES staff by making December a bit sweeter. Families bake, or bring in treats to stock a cookie bar. LAES staff select treats to bring home.
Teacher Appreciation Week - LAES PTA plans a variety of ways to demonstrate appreciation to the LAES teachers. Typically, many meals and treats are provided by LAES parents. In 2019, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th-May 10th.
Dining for Dollars - LAES families and community members go to a local restaurant to eat on set days. A percentage of the restaurant’s sales are returned to LAES PTA. Look for multiple dates throughout the year.
Dolphin Dash - This is our main fundraiser! LAES students collect financial sponsorship from family, friends, and community members. Then, students compete in a fun run called the Dolphin Dash. This event takes place in the spring.
